At Abundance Global, we have worked with over 2.000 entrepreneurs over the years. Amidst this, are people that run six, seven and eight-figure businesses, and we’ve noticed some important differences between each of these groups. What we’ve discovered it comes down to, is a matter of strategy vs tactics. The people running six and seven-figure businesses have usually mastered one of these. They’ve figured out whether their natural tendency and skill set is more tactic or strategy inclined, and they’ve become experts in their element. And that’s great! But the harsh reality is, that to get to an eight-figure business, you need to be able to do both. You need to master the strategy and the tactics in unison!
The thing is though, a lot of people don’t even know the difference! That’s what we’re here to help with. I’ve spent a long time training in the Navy, been deployed to the Middle East, spent time in war zones and many interesting and treacherous situations where I’ve learnt all there is to know about strategy and tactics. And I’ve summarised 18 years of military experiences down to one simple metaphor.
Strategy is the bird’s eye view, and tactics are the worm’s eye view.
You’ve got to have the ability to see from both.
The bird’s eye view is your ability to see the big picture. To go up nice and high, get your head in the clouds, and look down over your entrepreneurial kingdom to see what the vision is, where your business is headed, and what all the changes in the economy and technology mean for your industry.
The worm’s eye view, on the other hand, is your ability to get granular. To come back down from the clouds and zoom right in on what’s happening on the ground level. To implement the strategy in the here and now.
It’s as simple as that. We find that when people get to seven figures, they’ve done so because they’ve developed their strength in one of these areas. But a lot of the time, they hit a wall and can’t figure out how to get past it, because they have no experience in the other element. That’s where we come in!
